Planit-X Town and Country Planning Services was formed in 2010 by Colin Wilkinson who has over 30 years’ experience working as a planner in both the private and public private sector,
Colin has been a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute since 1986 and has worked for planning authorities in London, Norfolk, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and the West Midlands. He was Assistant Chief Executive at Melton Borough Council where he managed a wide range of local authority services before forming Planit-X.
Colin has given evidence at Local Plan examinations and public inquiries and won Royal Town Planning Institute awards for his work. He has been involved in neighbourhood planning since its inception in 2011 having supported several neighbourhood plan front-runners.
Alison joined Planit-X in 2018 from a local government background and is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. With over 20 years of experience, she has extensive knowledge of the planning and neighbourhood planning process.
Alison has worked at a number of Local Planning Authorities, both within development control and planning policy formulation, covering a wide range of topics. This has included working on planning applications for housing development, mixed use schemes and commercial development. More recently Alison has focused on planning policy including Local Plan preparation at North West Leicestershire District Council. She has played a key role in the adoption of their Local Plan and its subsequent review.
Since joining Planit-X she has assisted a number of Parish Councils prepare and successfully adopt Neighbourhood Plans, along with preparing a range of supporting documents including Consultation Statements, Basic Conditions Statements, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Site Assessment.
