Brigstock is situated in Rockingham Forest to the south-east of the town of Corby in East Northamptonshire District. As at 2015 the estimated population was 1,369 and there were 621 households. The Billesdon Neighbourhood Development Plan was approved by referendum with a ‘Yes’ vote of 90% on a 39% turnout of eligible residents.
The plan provides for the delivery of 60 homes through the identification of two housing sites.
One of the more important objectives of the plan was to protect the character of the village and this has been achieved by the inclusion of a Village Design Statement within the Plan. This puts design guidance on a more robust, statutory footing and is designed to impose appropriate standards of building in the village for the future.
"We have recently completed our Brigstock Neighbourhood Plan and we had Planit-X’s guidance from the beginning of the process.
With their expert and clear help we had the Plan approved first time with minimal changes and kept nearly all of the residents on board as well. I would highly recommend them to other Parishes if you are thinking of doing your Plan."
